The two racecourses in South Wales have a new senior management team.
Both Chepstow and Ffos Las are now owned by the Arena Racing Company (ARC) after the West Wales course near Llanelli was purchased from businessman Dai Walters last year.
ARC owns and operates 16 racecourses in the UK including Doncaster, Uttoxeter, Newcastle and Windsor as well as a number of greyhound tracks, hotels and golf courses.
Phil Bell is the Executive Director of both courses with Caroline Williams becoming General Manager at Chepstow and Simon Rowlands taking over the same role at Ffos Las.
Caroline has worked at Chepstow for seven years and prior to that held senior positions at Glamorgan cricket club and Bath Racecourse.
Simon was previously Catering General Manager at Chepstow following a career in several other hospitality businesses.
The courses will host a total of 51 race meetings in 2019 and a range of other events including festivals, running and cycling events and trade shows and exhibitions. Both courses will have Madness playing live after racing this summer.
Phil Bell said:” Horse racing is Britain’s second biggest spectator sport and we are excited by the opportunity to attract more people to the two courses in South Wales.
“We will be working on plenty of initiatives to encourage more people to experience a day at the races or host an event at our venues.”
