Two of the biggest horse races of the year in Wales have a new sponsor – the Neath based company Low Cost Vans, one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial vehicles.
The company has agreed to support the £50,000 Welsh Champion Hurdle on Gentleman’s Day at Ffos Las and the £22,500 Robert Mottram Novices’ Chase at Chepstow.
The races are schedule for Saturday 19th and Saturday 12th October respectively.
The Welsh Champion Hurdle is steeped in history with previous winners including The New One and Oscar Whisky while the Robert Mottram Novices’ Chase always attracts top class horses, which in recent years have included Cue Card and Silviniaco Conti.
Low Cost Vans owner and managing director, Rod Lloyd said: “As a Welsh company we have long been involved with sport in Wales, from a grass-roots level to Premier League football. This is our first foray into horse racing sponsorship, and we are excited to be backing races at Chepstow and Ffos Las. With around 15,000 people attending these two race meetings and a sizeable audience on Sky Sports Racing, our brand will receive excellent exposure.”
Phil Bell, Executive Director at Chepstow and Ffos Las, said: ”We are delighted to welcome Low Cost Vans to Welsh horse racing. Our industry is in tremendous shape with plenty of jockeys and trainers doing well in races all over the UK so it’s great to see a Welsh company with a successful national profile supporting our sport.”
Established in 1999, Low Cost Vans are one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial vehicles. From their head office in Neath, they have saved thousands of people millions of pounds on business finance leasing over the last 20 years.
